footage

We all know about Helen Keller. If we didn’t hear about her in school, then books or movies proved to be a solid source of information. Keller was left blind and deaf after suffering from an illness as a child, but a woman named Anne Sullivan helped her learn to communicate with the world around her. In this rare footage from 1928, Sullivan demonstrates how she taught Keller language. It’s one thing to look at cold photos in the pages of a textbook – videos can really bring history alive. Even if cracking open a history book gives you a rash, you can’t deny that this content is fascinating.
