In a world where bad news – wars, hate-crimes, poisonings, and killings, among other bizarre actions, make the front page, it is quite easy for deeds of a Good Samaritan to go under the radar. However, this good deed is going viral. Lazaro Nolasco boarded a Brooklyn-bound train on Friday night and was greeted with a view of a homeless elderly man just across from him. Lazaro says:
“The guy didn’t have a shirt, his body looked sick.”
Another passenger then boarded the same train, gave the homeless man the shirt off his back, went back to his seat and came back with a hat for same man. Then, the Good Samaritan, known only as Jay, asked the man if he needed medical attention. Considering the state the homeless man was in and the freezing temperatures he probably did. Lazaro filmed the exchange and uploaded it to Facebook.
He says:
“The guy did a good deed, so I wanted to record it,”
“I would tell him, ‘God bless him’. That’s thoughtful.”
The clip has so far garnered almost 14 million views since the time it was uploaded.
Considering that New-Yorkers are stereotyped as rude and uncaring, this Good Samaritan sure deserves to be applauded. He wasn’t expecting applause though; he was just doing the right thing.
To cap it all off, he wore his muscle-tee throughout the ride in freezing temperature.
How many would do that for someone they do not know on a freezing night?
Good man.
