Thirty-Second Video Shows The Terrifying Reality Of Global Warming

After discovering that 2015 marks the “warmest year” our planet has seen since the advent of modern record-keeping in 1880, the folks at NASA put together a 30-second video to demonstrate a “long-term warming trend.” What the video really depicts is a terrifying reality of global warming.

Scientists from both NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), who are studying the effects of global climate change, each conducted “independent analyses” and concluded that 2015 temperatures “shattered the previous [high]…by 0.23 degrees Fahrenheit.” The previous record was set in 2014.

This disturbing news led NASA Administrator Charles Bolden to make a call for action; he stated that this news:

not only underscores how critical NASA’s Earth observation program is, it is a key data point that should make policy makers stand up and take notice – now is the time to act on climate.

NASA reported that the rise in surface temperature is:

largely driven by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere.

The 30-second video demonstrates how temperatures have changed and increased from 1880 to 2015. NASA explains that the:

“Orange colors represent temperatures that are warmer than the 1951-80 baseline average, and blues represent temperatures cooler than the baseline.

If climate change deniers, or those questioning the science, cannot believe either NASA or NOAA — both leaders in their respected scientific fields — then who will they believe?
