Caffeine Junkie? You Can Now Absorb Your Drug Through The Skin With This Caffeine Bracelet

Absorbing caffeine through the skin with a bracelet? Yes, it’s possible, according to the creators of Joule, a new product for caffeine junkies.

Mashable brought attention to the product through its Indiegogo campaign, where their initial fundraising goal was just $15,000, and they’ve since raised over $56,000. Maybe not surprisingly, considering Joule promises to make caffeine consumption much easier. The bracelet, which also comes in the form of a watch, delivers caffeine to your bloodstream via a process called transdermal administration:

“Caffeine is administred through your skin. Why? It’s fat soluble. Thats how it’s gets passed your blood-brain barrier.”

You simply strap it on, and your skin will absorb all the caffeine faster than you can by drinking it. You won’t risk coffee stains on your teeth and doses are administered at regular intervals through that day to prevent overdosing. The campaign even promises that consumers can wear the bracelet if they were asked to cut back on caffeine for medical purposes. Sounds like a win-win for all of us – if it works?
