Earlier this week, we told you that several kids watched a Donald Trump video and didn’t like what they saw or heard one bit. But that isn’t the only time that the Donald has flunked the kids’ litmus test. A third-grader in Greensboro, North Carolina wrote an awesome letter to Trump calling him out for his ugliness on the campaign trail.

Soon after the new quarter began at Mills Road Elementary School in Jamestown, near Greensboro, Jackson Wheeless’ third-grade class was told to choose any four out of eight projects that had to be completed by the end of the quarter. One of the options was to write a letter to a celebrity. When Jackson heard the assignment, he knew what he wanted to do–write a letter to Trump.

Jackson’s mother, Kelley, said that his classmates had been talking a lot about “the way (Trump) makes rude comments and things.” Since they had been learning about bullying, he thought calling out Trump would be a perfect tie-in.

Jackson starts out by calling out Trump for being “very rude to a lot of people.” He wants Trump to know that while “you are talking to adults,” he and other kids are watching him as well–and they don’t like what they see. He knows that the president “is supposed to be our leader,” and doesn’t think Trump is acting the way a leader should act.

Jackson also thinks that Trump needs a refresher course in the Golden Rule. He wonders if Trump would want his grandchildren hearing some of the outrageous things he’s said lately, and wondered if he ever feels sorry about them. If he does, Jackson must have missed it, because “I have never heard you apologize.”

He was particularly upset that Trump saw fit to mock a disabled reporter. Remembering what he has learned about bullying, Jackson thinks a Trump presidency “could make that problem much worse.” He was also alarmed that Trump suggested he could “stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody” and still hold on to most of his support.

As Jackson sees it, the president needs to be “a kind, honest, caring person”–and Trump doesn’t even come close. He wants Trump to know that he will be “a better person than you have been teaching me to be.”

Kelley was so impressed with Jackson’s work that she posted it to Facebook. Within days, it got picked up around the world. Needless to say, Kelley is “overwhelmed” by all the attention.

In an interview with WFMY-TV in Greensboro, Jackson said his muse was stirred up when he watched Trump’s numerous appearances on the news in the morning with his dad. He doesn’t like that Trump seems to be getting a pass for behavior that would get him in “big trouble” at school. He hopes that Trump will “change his behavior and be more respectful to people.” Kelley added that Trump’s behavior hit a raw nerve with Jackson, since “he gets so offended” when people aren’t treated right.

Incredibly, a number of online commenters have suggested that Jackson couldn’t have possibly written the letter, and that Kelley is pulling his strings for personal gain. Uh huh. So a third-grader is too young to have opinions? It can only be described as awesome that Jackson is this perceptive already. If only the adults in the GOP thought like he did, Trump would have long since been drummed out of the race.
