Her Husband Died Leaving An Important Job Unfinished, The Cop On Duty Finished It

The story of how a cop responded to a call in Arizona is going viral, after he showed her kindness and concern well beyond his duties.

The cop was Sgt Jeff Turney from Glendale, and the woman Geraldeine Tabor, whom had just lost her husband that same morning.

Sgt. Turney arrived and comforted Geraldeine when he happened to notice that the front door lock was broken. He realized this presented a potential dangerous situation, especially as she was now alone.

He had a Home Depot card in his pocket, which he gave to another officer, and sent him off to get a front door lock. When the officer returned, he grabbed his tools and began installing the new lock.

Fox 10 showed Geraldeine explaining what had happened:

“When the coroner finally came and got my husband, I walked over here and he was working on it, and I have never seen that before, that’s a new one.”

Sgt. Turney explained:

“It was a lock that is normally used for the inside of a house for the bathroom, and it wouldn’t latch, there was no latch to it. She was using a dead bolt to try to keep it locked at night.”

He knew it had been broken for years and she had no one there to fix it, especially now after losing her husband. He concluded that although they weren’t able to take away her sadness of loosing a loved one, at least he now feels a little better about the situation knowing she’s more safe at night.

The seregant’s act of kindless is not only appreciated by the widow, but by thousands of others watching the story go viral and get inspired by it.
