Did Elizabeth Warren Just Endorse Bernie Sanders?

Progressive sweetheart Senator Elizabeth Warren inched closer to endorsing Bernie Sanders Thursday, during remarks made to reporters in Quincy Mass. Warren had sharp words for Republican front runner Donald Trump, warning that voters should be wary of Trump’s bombastic rhetoric and hate speech. She sent out a spate of Tweets earlier this week, harshly criticizing Trump for his language as well as his business history. She referred to his failed businesses as well as the fact that he inherited his fortune.

As she spoke to reporters after touring a local community health center, Warren stated that both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders would be far better for the country than any of the Republican candidates. She talked about the different views on health care between the two parties as an example.

According to the Boston Globe, Warren was asked about which of the two Democratic candidates she had voted for in the Massachusetts primary on Super Tuesday. The Senator did not answer that direct question, and told reporters that she would be endorsing someone soon, but was not yet ready to speak.

When one reporter asked if Senator Warren thought that Bernie Sanders should drop out of the race, the eminently liberal Warren instead praised the Senator from Vermont. Both Warren and Sanders share a belief that Wall Street needs stricter regulation. Both have spoken out strongly against rising student debt.

Warren stated that she admires Bernie because of his passion and his honesty. She spoke about her admiration for the fact that he speaks out about his long held beliefs. Warren went on to say:

“He has put the right issues on the table both for the Democratic Party and for the country in general so I’m still cheering Bernie on.”

Supporters of both Clinton and Sanders have been encouraging Sen. Warren to endorse their candidate for the past several months. In the interest of full disclosure, this writer will admit to have written to Warren more than once to encourage her to support Bernie.

Maybe Thursday’s remarks indicate that Warren is moving toward endorsing Sanders soon.
