WATCH: CNN Host Shuts Down Trump Spokesperson, Ends Interview

An interview segment on CNN went off the rails last night when a spokesperson for Donald Trump attempted to hijack the conversation and lead it in a direction more favorable to the current GOP front-runner.

Don Lemon had just begun a discussion with former “Apprentice” star and Trump acolyte Omarosa Manigualt and GOP strategist Kellyanne Conway when Omarosa refused to answer his question about what he termed Trump’s “over the top” attack on Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi. Omarosa told Lemon:

“I don’t think we should start there.”

She then attempted to change the subject to the Super PAC which ran a photo of a scantily clad Melania Trump from her days as a model. But Lemon put a stop to that immediately, telling her:

“No no no. I’m not gonna let you do that. Omarosa, stop!

“Omarosa, stop! Okay, let’s stop. Cut the mic. We’re not doing that. I want everyone on this panel to answer the question directly, and I will let you –”

Before her microphone was shut off, Omarosa did manage to get in one last snide remark, telling Lemon:

“You can ask questions, but you can’t answer them, Don.”

What Donald Trump and so many of his supporters seem to forget is that when you’re invited on a show and the host decides the interview is over, that’s the end of the segment. You are not entitled to try and steer the discussion in your own direction, and when the host has had enough, he or she can put an end to your nonsense. Too often Trump and his spokespeople act as if they have the right to do as they please. But they do not own the airwaves, and they are far too cowardly to answer any serious questions.

Here’s the interview that got cut short:
