Ted Cruz Eats His Words, Now Appealing To New Yorkers After Insulting Them

Ted Cruz, as you would expect inconsistency from any Republican candidate, has recently swallowed an insulting statement he made against New Yorkers. The Texan senator was singing a slightly different tune when he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday this week.

Cruz was quoted in an article posted on TalkingPoints website about his clarifications on his previous statement about Donald Trump having “New York values.” You can plainly see that the presidential contender desperately tried to explain the insulting statement by saying that he was attacking liberal Democratic values and not New Yorkers per se.

You are likely to be highly doubtful whether Cruz actually understands the meaning of being liberal and Democratic. Well, for most ultra-conservative Republicans, anything that is liberal or Democratic is evil or at least very suspicious by default.

Any person in their right mind would realize that the values of Donald Trump are far removed from what can be considered as liberal and Democratic. He is too bigoted, narcissistic, and far too right-winged to even be remotely considered as liberal.

Cruz tried to clarify his controversial statement by saying:

“Let’s be clear, the people of New York know what those values are. The values of liberal Democratic politicians like Andrew Cuomo, like Anthony Weiner, like Eliot Spitzer, like Charlie Rangel, all of whom Donald Trump has supported, given tens of thousands of dollars to throughout the years.”

As previously reported by MSNBC, ordinary New Yorkers were pissed off by the statement Cruz made earlier this year on the Howie Carr show last January 12, 2016. The recorded audio of the interview is still available on the official YouTube channel of Ted Cruz.

You can listen to the recorded audio here:

During his campaign sortie in the Bronx on Wednesday, he was asked by a reporter how he could expect to win in New York if he previously insulted and stereotyped the values of New Yorkers by associating them to Trump. Cruz responded by saying that the polls could change quickly. He then compared his recent victory in Wisconsin where he won an overwhelming majority of votes on Tuesday even when he was previously trailing behind in the polls.
