Porn Site To North Carolina Users: No Fun Times For You!

A well known internet porn site has decided that “porn has the power to do what Bruce Sprinsteen can’t.”

The reference of course is to Springsteen’s decision to cancel a show in North Carolina after the state passed its blatantly discriminatory law, House Bill 2.  The bill was written and rushed through the North Carolina legislature in late March as a response to a law that was set to go into effect on April 1st in Charlotte.

Now, stay with me here: the Charlotte law was designed to protect gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people from being discriminated against by businesses.  The idea of that much equality clearly drove the power brokers in the state nearly insane.

So they rammed through their own bill, HB2, which makes it illegal for any city or town in North Carolina to pass any law that protects people based on their sexual orientation.

Yup.  So if you live in North Carolina, you can’t be refused a seat at the table because of your race, your religion, your nationality,or your gender. But if you are queer, they can deny you a seat, a meal, a case, a license, a new pair of shoes…….And guess what? No one in NC can pass a law to protect you.

In reaction to this insanity, a lot of big companies and big celebrities are refusing to provide services to North Carolina.

A LOT of businesses.  Including, according to the HuffPo, the well known internet porn site XHamster who has decided that if you can’t pour a coffee for a gay man, then you can’t surf the net for gay porn. Or any kind of porn for that matter.

So pornography seekers in North Carolina who access the site are rewarded with a black screen instead of something much juicier.

The company spokesman, Mike Kulich, said that when the company looked at the stats from North Carolina, it sure looked like the people in the state are more accepting than the folks in the legislature would like us to believe.  In fact, in the month of March, 400,000 people from the state searched on their site for the term ‘transsexual.’

Kulich stated that the internet site has been supporting and pushing for equality and acceptance for 50 years, and was not about to stop now.

So, North Carolinians, you can live without Bruce Springsteen, but can you really live without your S&M Threesomes?
