WARNING: ‘Meme’ Trying To KILL Sanders Supporters (VIDEO)

Mic has uncovered a sick story circulating the Internet right now. Someone made this very unfunny “meme” for Bernie Sanders supporters.

The meme’s creator says that the “recipe” will make a fun glowstick craft. He even put FeelTheBern stickers on them. This recipe is extremely dangerous! It is not a “glowstick,” it is a chlorine bomb! It can cause a big explosion shortly after the ingredients are mixed.

This thing is lethal! It is pulled from the Anarchist Cookbook and was published on DeviantArt, Tumblr, and other sites.

This gif shows what can happen when these ingredients are mixed:

Not only will it explode, but it can also fill the air with toxic chlorine gas if set off in enclosed space. This is absolutely sick. If you disagree with someone’s politics, you can be an adult and discuss your points or you can just ignore it. Even posting whiny statuses and tweets is still better than tricking people into killing or harming themselves.

Here is a quote from Mic about what exactly happens when you mix these ingredients:

“The instructions require you to mix a swimming-pool-chlorinating tablet with isopropyl alcohol, then shake the ingredients together inside of a closed bottle. The chemical reaction rapidly generates enough chlorine gas to cause a pressurized explosion in the bottle, releasing the gas into the air. If the lungs are exposed to enough chlorine gas, it begins to attack the respiratory system and can cause the lungs to fill with fluid until the victim asphyxiates.”

Here are some of the tweet responses to this meme:

This person needs to be tracked down and arrested. The attacker even put a “supported by Bernie” text on the meme.
