WTF?! Bernie Sanders Campaign Manager Says Not To Listen To ‘Right Wing Foreigners’

If you thought only Donald Trump could make highly objectionable comments, then you need to meet Jeff Weaver, who just so happens to be the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders.

Some background will help you understand what Weaver said earlier today on CNN’s “New Day.” Former Mexican President Vicente Fox had remarked that American political figures such as Trump and Bernie Sanders who are so opposed to NAFTA, are part of a larger problem, adding that such people are:

“What we saw in Latin America throughout the 20th Century.”

Fox also noted that Trump and Sanders are similar to the “dictators” and “false prophets” who came to dominate Mexican politics in the 20th century.

When Weaver was asked about this by CNN host Alisyn Camerota, he had this to say in response to Fox:

“He is a right-wing politician from Mexico. Everybody knows that. He’s just wrong. The person in the race who is out there to defend American democracy, to create an economy that works for everybody, to end corrupt finance system, that’s Bernie Sanders. And you know, right-wing foreigners, you know, you could take that with what it’s worth.”

Right wing foreigners? Really, Mr. Weaver? Are you sure you shouldn’t be working for the Trump campaign if you insist on engaging in that kind of rhetoric?

It should also be noted that this is the same Jeff Weaver who has vocally defended gun manufacturers as a way to blunt attacks from Hillary Clinton that Sanders is weak on the gun issue. Additionally, Weaver has blamed Clinton for creating ISIS. Clearly, Weaver is not exactly the best person for Sanders to keep in charge of his campaign, which Sanders has promised will not go negative.

But the larger question is this: Will Senator Sanders ask Weaver to apologize for such language, and if Weaver refuses, will he ask him to resign? Because such a person would be a liability should Sanders happen to win the Democratic nomination and face Trump in the general election.

So, Senator Sanders, what do you say? Does Weaver apologize or do you ask him to step aside?
