WATCH: Professional Drag Queen Ambrosia Starling Speaks Out Against Judge Roy Moore

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has been in the news a bit this past year. After the same-sex marriage ruling came down last June, he refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. He also told state employees that they should do the same. Here is a list of some other dumb things he has said.

Now, he has finally been suspended for not following the federal ruling.

Ambrosia Starling, a professional drag queen, is involved in the movement to get him out of office. Earlier this year a lawsuit was filed by various groups to oust Moore. Here is what Moore said about her in April after the initial filing:

“This person (Starling) and some of the people around her, would have been said to have a mental disorder-gender identity disorder according to the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association.”

There are other people back this lawsuit, but Starling has been taking the biggest hits from Moore. Her response to him calling her “crazy” was:

“I am crazy for democracy. I’m insane for civil rights and better behavior. I am out of my mind when I see people losing their manners and disrespecting people they don’t know.”

She also said this about the judge:

“It is the duty of a judge to treat all citizens of their state and their national equally and fairly.”

Moore was kicked out of his office thirteen years ago for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments monument from the courthouse. Somehow, the voters put him back in office. I don’t understand.

Starling was worried that Moore’s fixation on her was taking away credit from the other people that filed complaints against him. Here is what she had to say about that:

“There were eight other speakers up there — ministers, social activists and military. All he saw was a transvestite. I want to say a personal thank you to every person who took the time to fill out the more than 50 judicial complaints. They deserve as much credit for this as I do.”

She will be speaking in Huntsville on Saturday.
