CNN Host: Warren Would Be Bad VP Pick For Hillary Because ‘Two Women…Too Much’ (Video)

Last night, history was made when Hillary Clinton became the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, the first woman to ever head a ticket for any major American political party. It was a great moment for the United States and for women everywhere.

Now imagine this: two women on the same ticket. There has been talk in recent weeks that Clinton may well choose Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren to be her running mate. It could well happen, and it might virtually guarantee that Clinton and Warren win the election.

But to hear CNN host Carol Costello last night, you’d think two women on the same ticket is a bad idea. As part of an interview she was conducting with former Senator Lincoln Chafee, Costello noted that Clinton “has to say something to get Bernie Sanders supporters on board.” Then she added this:

“Might it be as simple as picking the right running mate because Elizabeth Warren’s name has been floated out there? And she’s like a big opponent of Wall Street, she wants to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, etc., etc.”

For the sake of unity, Chafee remarked, he would love to see Sanders named as the pick for Vice President. This led Costello to comment:

“Some people say Elizabeth Warren would not be a good choice because it would be two women on the ticket. Perhaps that would be too much.”

Yes, a woman just said two women would be too much on the same ticket. You may now facepalm.

Then Costello asked Chafee:

“You think a two woman ticket would turn people off?”

Chafee, good politician that he is, said he would choose Sanders because he has more “experience” in the political world.

But you have to wonder what made Costello even question if two women on a ticket was too much for the country to handle. Isn’t she selling the American people short?
