Whether you like her music or not, there is no doubt that Lady Gaga is a very socially aware pop artist, which she proved again at a tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting which was held in Los Angeles.
Lady Gaga is especially outspoken in her support of the LGBT community. She has marched in gay pride parades, appeared on the cover of Out magazine, been a strong advocate for marriage equality, and even started an organization which is devoted to ending bullying.
At Monday’s moving tribute, Gaga began her remarks by saying of the victims:
“Let’s all today pledge an allegiance of love to them and to their families who are suffering so deeply. They are sons and daughters. They were fathers and mothers. They are all our brothers and our sisters.”
Her eyes filled with tears, her voice shaking, the singer continued:
“I hope you know that myself and so many are your allies. Not only me, but everyone here. We represent the compassion and the loyalty of millions of people around the world that believe in you.
“You are not alone, you are not alone.”

Ignore voices that aim to divide us, this only leads to more violence between people. We must unite as humans, where we are all the same. ?

Lady Gaga concluded by telling the crowd:
“Tomorrow I hope that we all race thoughtfully and loudly toward solutions. But tonight, and right now, Orlando, we are united with you. And we are here to remember.”
We need more loving people with good hearts like Lady Gaga’s. Thank you for saying what so many of us are feeling, Lady.
