We have all “tasted the rainbow” with Skittles over the years. Now, they are temporarily giving their rainbow to the Pride London movement. They’ve released completely white bags and are going to “Give the Rainbow.”
They said that only one rainbow deserves attention right now.
They also had a colorless float in the London Pride parade. They gave out white bags of Skittles to parade-goers.
The letter launching the campaign read:
“So this is kinda awkward, but we’re just gonna go ahead and address the rainbow-coloured elephant in the room. You have the rainbow … we have the rainbow … and usually that’s just hunky-dory. But this Pride, only one rainbow deserves to be the centre of attention – yours. And we’re not going to be the ones to steal your rainbow thunder, no siree. That’s why this weekend, we’re giving up our rainbow. But don’t worry, we’ll still be there to celebrate every colourful minute with you, we’ll just be completely starkers while we do it. Have a great day, Pride. From Skittles.”
Here is what the letter looked like in London newspapers.
Here are some pictures of the float from the parade. They were posted on Twitter with the hashtag #onerainbow.

The London Pride Festival was held from June 10 to June 26. The campaign this year is called #nofilter. The website says:
“Our campaign this year is called #nofilter. It celebrates the spirit of Pride and asks you to do something very simple: Live your life as you.”
“Many LGBT+ people feel the the need to filter their behaviour, to self-censor or to hide who they are. Well, not today. We’re encouraging people to live as themselves, nothing more, nothing less.”

It looks like this was a beautiful event. I love seeing these positivity campaigns. It is beautiful when love wins over hate.
