Dear God, is nothing too ridiculous to send Fox News pundits into a panic?
RawStory is reporting that the geniuses on Fox News are all in a panic about where the Statue of Liberty is going to pee.
Well, technically, the bathroom question didn’t come up directly, but it was out there. After all, in the world of conservative Republicans, civilization will come to a crashing halt if someone of the “wrong” gender uses a public bathroom.
The question of who was born with what equipment seems to be looming over everything for these poor terrified right wingers. Now even the famous statue has come under scrutiny about their sexuality.

Tonight the Discovery Channel will be running a show about the creation of the Statue of Liberty by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. The artist was believed to have used his mother as the model for the face of liberty, but author Elizabeth Mitchell discovered a different theory as she researched a book on the subject.
In an interview with the New York Post, Mitchell said that she had studied photos of Bartholdi’s mother. She said that she had noticed differences between the face of the statue and that of the woman who was supposed to have been its model. The sculptor was known for his accuracy, so she was baffled by the differences.
Mitchell then looked at photos of the artist’s brother, and explained:
“Going through photos he had in his files of his brother, I started to look at the face more carefully, and it really did look to be like Liberty. His brother in his adult years had actually gone mad, and it was Bartholdi’s task to go once a week to visit, sometimes [spending] hours just staring at his brother, who was not speaking.”
The possibility of the venerable Statue of Liberty being modeled on a mentally ill transgender male was almost too much for the people on Fox & Friends. They actually brought on a guest specifically to reassure everyone.
Professor Edward Berenson of New York University quickly dismissed the idea that the artist might have used his brother’s face for the model of liberty. He said:
“This guy [Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi], when he was in New York wrote his mother every single day. If he wasn’t going to do his mom and was going to do his brother instead, we’d have that in the correspondence.”
This is hilarious, since we know that the brother in question was sitting catatonic in an asylum. Whatever makes you feel better, Fox & Friends!
Berenson finished by saying that there is no doubt about it. Lady Liberty is absolutely not Transgender Liberty.
So we can now all feel safe if we have to pee alongside the Statue of Liberty.
