Trump’s Convention Entrance Gets A Thorough Mocking On Social Media

Day 1 of the 2016 Republican National Convention is already embroiled in a controversy over the alleged cribbing of lines in Melania Trump’s speech from a speech given by Michelle Obama in 2008. But prior to the actual speech last night, there was the grand entrance of the presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, as if he was some kind of rock star or semi-mythical figure. In case you missed it, here’s a recap:

Yep, that’s how Trump came onstage to introduce his wife before she spoke. It was if he was trying to upstage her so she wouldn’t overshadow him.

Social media could not wait to mock the Orange Menace for his ostentatious entrance, and boy did they ever make Trump pay. Here’s a sampling:

So, when Trump actually gives his acceptance speech on Thursday night, what can we expect? I’m guessing some pyrotechnics, lots of confetti, and perhaps a human sacrifice or two. Afterall, he’s gotta try and top his first entrance.
