JUST IN: Rep. Peter King Lambasts Ted Cruz After Cruz’s Stage Stunt (VIDEO)

Day three of the three-ring freak show in Cleveland.

So far, we’ve seen humiliating plagiarism. We’ve seen crazy, hateful people give crazy, hateful speeches. We’ve seen Third Eye Blind booed for poking fun at the regressive crowd (I can honestly say I never saw that one coming).

We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. We’ve drank ourselves into oblivion and hid under the couch praying it would all go away.

But, wait! There’s more! You didn’t think the absurdity was over yet, did you?!

The Republican Texas Senator, Ted Cruz, is back, and he’s more unpopular than ever!

The crowd ruthlessly heckled Sen. Cruz for refusing to endorse frontrunner, Donald Trump (N.Y.). Afterwards, New York Rep. Peter King gave a few choice words to NBC‘s Hallie Jackson on Sen. Cruz, and they weren’t exactly diplomatic:

“…Ted Cruz showed America what he really is. He’s a fraud, he’s a liar, he’s self-centered, and he disqualified himself for ever being considered for president of the United States. He took a pledge to support the nominee. Today, this is the Ted Cruz that I’ve known, unfortunately. He cannot be trusted. He’s not a true republican. He’s not a true conservative. He’s totally self-centered. I never saw such outrage and anger on the floor as I saw with Ted Cruz tonight, and he deserved every bit of it. He’s a total fraud…

…he’s an untruthful person. You can’t believe him. They should get behind someone who truly believes what they say. It’s not his message we disagree with; it’s him as a human being, and as a person…

…(Cruz is) more of a disgrace now than ever…

he’s disgraced himself, disgraced the party, and the party should never again consider him for office…

…we can live without Ted Cruz, and I think it’s good that America saw what Ted Cruz is all about…”

Ouch. That had to hurt. You can almost feel bad for the guy after this less-than-warm reception. Almost…

The verbal shredding of Cruz from Rep. King et al. suggests that the only 2016 GOP candidate more unpopular with republicans is the one they just nominated for Commander in Chief. If that’s not the very quintessence of irony, I don’t know what is.
