Trump On Using Teleprompters: BAD For Obama, But Can You Change That Font Size For Me?

Trump Hates Teleprompters, Right?

It’s no secret that Donald Trump hates teleprompters.

In October, 2015, Trump’s words about the use of teleprompters to an audience of cheering sycophants were:

I’ve always said, if you run for president, you shouldn’t be allowed to use teleprompters because you don’t even know if the guy’s smart.

As recently as May 20, 2016, he told the blowhards at the NRA:

We should have non-teleprompter speeches only when you’re running for president.

Trump has a history of slamming those who use teleprompters. He is on record time and time again stating those who use them are idiots.

He loves to re-tweet messages from his followers who laud his supposed off-the-cuff remarks.

Teleprompters For Me, But Not For Thee

However, the man who says he has “all the best words” needed those words handed to him at the Republican National Convention. Furthermore, he and daughter Ivanka felt the need to nitpick every last aspect of using a teleprompter, right down to the font.

A reporter on the scene caught an exchange between the Trumps and the tech crew. Perhaps the best part is when the sound man, Gabe, has the audacity to use the phrase “patching in” in front of The Donald. The nerve of some people!

Teleprompters are really no big deal. It’s not the fact that he used one that is the issue here. The issue is that the Right has blasted President Obama for years for his use of teleprompters. In fact, there’s an entire website devoted to blasting Obama for using teleprompters. Hillary Clinton has also been denigrated over and over for her use of teleprompters.

However, it looks like what’s bad for the goose is just fine for the gander. Perhaps that “J” really does stand for jackass.
