Fox News, which is wholly responsible for creating the monster we know as Donald Trump, has now soured on the GOP nominee in a big way. If you doubt it, consider what happened earlier today on Fox when host Bill Hemmer was talking to Chris Wallace about remarks made by Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, who said:
“The Republican Party is united. Do we agree on everything? No. Mr. Trump is an outsider, he hasn’t been a part of the political system, so his relationships with the leadership of the party are not as deep and long as traditionally would be with the Republican nominee. But that’s not to say he doesn’t have good relations.”
Hemmer asked Wallace if he agreed with Manafort and the campaign would improve. To that, Wallace replied:
“Well, I suppose it’s improving if you consider that he’s no longer in a fight with a Gold Star family, but no, these are bad numbers, and it isn’t early in the campaign.”
Big smirk on his face, Wallace then added:
“We’re post-convention, to a certain degree the campaign is going to kind of freeze in place for the next couple of weeks while people watch the Olympics and do something sensible instead of focusing on politics. And the next big event won’t be until late September when you have the first presidential debate.”
Yep, even Fox News knows Trump is toast. Well, everyone at Fox News with the possible exception of Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, both of whom would give Trump a free manicure and pedicure if he requested it. Makes you wonder if Rupert Murdoch has sent out word via interoffice email telling the staff to stop carrying water for the Orange Menace. Fox may be in the bag for the GOP, but even they don’t want to be associated with a loser like Donald Trump.
