Former Mexican President Vicente Fox has criticized the current government of Mexico for suggesting that the nation would work with Donald Trump if wins the election this coming November.
During an interview with Vice, Fox said:
“I didn’t like the very last public statement of [the] Mexican government saying that, ‘either or whoever is that candidate, that we will work with,’
“I don’t accept that. You cannot work with a crazy guy. I cannot accept in terms of good behavior or political correctness to accept to have as my neighbor country’s president a crazy guy.”
Fox has been consistently critical of Trump’s run at the White House since the media mogul first launched his bid last year. He compared Trump to former Latin American leaders like Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.
His most outspoken issue is regarding Trump’s plans to build a wall between Mexico and America along the border, during which he said “I’m not going to build his f**king wall.”
Fox later apologized to Trump.
Fox Is Furious At President Enrique Pena Nieto
Despite comparing Trump’s “strident rhetoric” to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Italian fascist Benito Mussolini earlier this year, the current president, Enrique Pena Nieto, still wants to meet Trump.
President Nieto said in a television interview last Tuesday:
“Yes, I would meet with him. I can’t agree with some of the things he has said, but I will be absolutely respectful and will seek to work with whoever becomes the next president of the United States.”
Fox Is In Favor Of Hillary Clinton’s Bid For Presidency
On that subject he said:
“Fortunately, today, we are now in August. Hillary has a very strong lead of over 10 points in all the polls.”
