BREAKING: Gretchen Carlson Has Settled Sexual Harassment Case Against Fox For THIS AMOUNT

Apparently the powers-that-be at Fox News were worried enough about the sexual harassment suit filed against them and former CEO Roger Ailes by one-time host Gretchen Carlson that they have now decided to settle the suit and move on.

Vanity Fair magazine reports this morning that Fox and Carlson have reached a settlement which will pay Carlson $20 million. A formal apology from the conservative news network was also part of the agreement.

In an official statement, 21st Century Fox, parent company of Fox News, said:

“During her tenure at Fox News, Gretchen exhibited the highest standards of journalism and professionalism. She developed a loyal audience and was a daily source of information for many Americans. We are proud that she was part of the Fox News team. We sincerely regret and apologize for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect that she and all our colleagues deserve.”

Carlson filed suit against Fox in July, alleging that Roger Ailes made numerous sexual advances to her and that Ailes fired her because she refused to have sex with him. Since then, other female on-air talent who have worked at Fox News have also confirmed that Ailes allegedly sexually harassed them while they were employees.

Now that Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch has removed Ailes as head of the network, many media experts are wondering if the sullied reputation of Fox News can ever be repaired. Some have even suggested this could be the beginning of the end for Fox News, which would certainly be a welcome development.
