Trump Says Clinton Has No Child Care Plan, So She Set Him Straight Via Twitter

Last night in Pennsylvania, with his daughter Ivanka at his side, Donald Trump unveiled his proposal to guarantee that women have child care, saying of his plan:

“We’re going to solve that problem. That means we need working mothers to be fairly compensated for their work and have access to affordable, quality child care for their kids. That’s what we’re doing.”

The irony of the claims made by Trump are evident when you consider that female employees who work for his company have been asking for paid leave and child care benefits for years, but have constantly been rebuffed by their boss. So his credibility is exceptionally low on this–and most other–issues he claims to care about.

And naturally, since it was a Trump speech, he couldn’t resist taking a shot at Hillary Clinton, saying:

“Very little meaningful policy work has been done in this area — and my opponent has no childcare plan.”

That is a complete and total lie, and Clinton went on Twitter (Trump’s favorite social media platform) and set him straight on the matter, posting:

Senior Clinton policy advisor Maya Harris also issued a statement which summed up the way Trump had been caught in another lie in his attempt to shamelessly pander to female voters:

“With 56 days left in this campaign, Donald Trump has finally decided to talk policy and it’s everything we’ve expected it to be: out of touch, half-baked, and ignoring the way Americans live and work today.

“His ‘maternity leave’ plan is demeaning and damaging as it’s only available to women, not sufficient to provide support to working families and paid for by raiding unemployment insurance. His so-called child care plan could only be the brainchild of someone living in the penthouse of Trump Tower, leaving millions of middle class and working families with no support or pennies on the dollar while carving out a regressive tax break to pay for nannies and private schools.”
