‘We Will Turn Our Nation’ — Tom Hanks Reassures Us That It’s All Going To Be OK (VIDEO)

In the wake of the disappointing election results, many people are scared. We are all wondering what is going to happen to us. President-elect Donald Trump is not qualified for the job.

In the wake of these results, people are sharing messages of hope and overcoming adversity. Actor Tom Hanks gave America a pretty great message this week.

He said:

“We are going to be all right. America has been in worse places than we are at right now. In my own lifetime, our streets were in chaos, our generations were fighting each other tooth and nail. Every dinner table ended up being as close to a fistfight as human families allow.

… We are going to be all right because we constantly get to tell the world who we. We constantly get to define ourselves as Americans. We do have the greatest country in the world. We have the greatest country in the world because we are always moving towards a more perfect union. That journey never ceases, it never stops.

… We will take everything that has been handed to us as Americans. And we will turn our nation and we will turn the future and we will turn all the work that we have before us into some brand new thing of beauty.”

This is just the optimism that we all need right now. Trump is inexperienced, but we have a system of checks and balances. Our Constitution can withstand the orange menace.

Now, Hanks is definitely not a supporter of Trump. After the leaked audiotapes of Donald Trump talking about sexual assault were leaked, Hanks’ reaction stood out.

Men were talking about being offended “as a father” or “as a brother of sisters.” Hanks was one of the only ones to say he was offended as a man. He pointed out that Trump’s comments were not OK, and real men don’t act that way.

Here are Hanks’ comments about the tape incident:
