I don’t know about y’all, but I’m so glad 2016 is almost over. It has been quite the crazy year in the world of politics. President-elect Donald Trump ran a campaign filled with scandals that should’ve stopped him, but he somehow managed to win anyway.
With that in mind, the following are some of the weirdest moments in politics over the last year:
1. Marco Rubio Accused Trump Of Having ‘Wet Pants’
During one of the Republican debates of the 2016 primary season, presidential candidate Marco Rubio talked about Donald Trump being very sweaty onstage. He said that Trump had some kind of meltdown backstage and that he should be checked for “wet pants.”
2. Tammy Duckworth
Tammy Duckworth, who was elected as an Illinois Senator, is a veteran and double amputee; a result of her service in Iraq. During her run against rival, Senator Joe Walsh, he said Senator-elect Duckworth “doesn’t stand for veterans.”
Poor choice of words, there, Joe!
3. “Lock Her Up!”
The now President-elect Donald Trump kept threatening to jail his opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Just a couple of weeks after the election, Donald Trump started to back off of this particular campaign promise.

4. “Grab ‘Em By The Pussy”
That now infamous remark was made when the Washington Post leaked some footage and audio from a 2005 Access Hollywood special. He talked about how he thinks he can grope women because he’s a “star” and “they let you do it.”
5. Steve Bannon
Donald Trump named Breitbart-running, RWNJ Steve Bannon as his Chief of Staff. He is so bad, he makes Fox News look sane. He thinks spanking your children is a cure for mental health issues.
6. Howard Dean Said Trump Might Be Coke User
Notice Trump sniffing all the time. Coke user?

At the first presidential debate, Donald Trump kept sniffling the entire time. We were all wondering what The Donald might be on.
7. “Basket Of Deplorables”

Hillary Clinton said that half of Trump’s supporters belong in a “basket of deplorables.” We think it’s way more than that.
8. “Second Amendment People”
Trump was complaining about the possibility of Hillary Clinton picking a Supreme Court Justice. He mentioned the possibility of “Second Amendment” people taking care of that so-called problem. He, basically, suggested that his supporters shoot Clinton, and said:
“By the way, and if she gets the pick—if she gets the pick of her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I dunno.”
9. Melania Plagiarized Michelle Obama
At the Republican National Convention, our future First Lady, Melania Trump, plagiarized Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech.
CORRECTION: Melania stole a whole graph from Michelle's speech. #GOPConvention

10. Clinton Health Conspiracy
There were all kinds of conspiracies surrounding Hillary Clinton’s health. Someone spread the claim that she was secretly taking medicine for seizures. At the 9/11 memorial, she appeared to collapse because she had been fighting pneumonia.
11. Legal Marijuana
Four states: Nevada, Massachusetts, California, and Maine all legalized recreational marijuana.
12. Cruz Was The Phantom Of The Opera For Halloween
Yes, as if Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz wasn’t scary enough, he dressed up as the Phantom of the Opera for Halloween.

13. Trump Called Clinton A “Nasty Woman”
During the third and final Presidential debate, Donald Trump called Hillary Clinton a “nasty woman.”
14. Trump called Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas”
Donald Trump called the fiery, progressive Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” because of her Native American heritage.
She said:
“Donald Trump is a loud, nasty, thin-skinned fraud who has never risked anything for anyone and who serves no one but himself.”
