Monday afternoon, former President Barack Obama gave a lecture at the University of Chicago, where he used to teach constitutional law, and as usual he was witty, thought-provoking, and brilliant. It was a stark reminder of the days when we had a head of state who could speak in complete sentences.
Social media immediately began lamenting how far we’ve fallen as a country in just a few months:
Hearing President Obama speak reminds me how much I miss having a president.

It's so strange watching and listening to President Obama right now. It feels like ages ago that this sense of calm I feel was mundane.

Daily reminder that it's been 51 days since Trump accused Obama of a felony and still hasn't provided proof or apologized.

President Obama's return feels like you've been held hostage by meth-smoking creeps, and the cops show up…for a minute.?#mondaymotivation pic.twitter.com/DNyvU6VXTu
