MSNBC Panel: NSA Director Will ‘Drop A Bomb’ On Trump At Wednesday Congressional Hearing (VIDEO)

While all of us are looking ahead to Thursday, when former FBI Director James Comey is scheduled to testify in open session before the Senate Intelligence Committee, it might also be a good idea to keep an eye on testimony from National Security Agency (NSA) Director Mike Rogers a day before Comey appears.

On MSNBC’s The Point Saturday, a panel of guests speculated as to what Admiral Rogers will tell the Intelligence Committee when he appears Wednesday. David Corn of Mother Jones began by commenting:

“We now know for certain that Vladimir Putin waged political warfare against America’s democracy with the election last year. While that’s going on, Donald Trump is saying, ‘No, it’s not happening.’ It’s like a guy in front of a bank robbery saying, ‘Nothing is going on here.’ He was helping.”

“He made it easier for Putin to pull this off. That in itself should be a big scandal.”

Steve Clemons of the Atlantic then added:

“While a lot of people have focused on James Comey and that’s obviously a huge anchor in this, watch the Senate Intelligence Committee hearings on Wednesday. National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers may have a bomb to drop in this, as well as Dan Coates. I have been tipped off that Mike Rogers has a story to tell as well that goes right along the lines that our friend David Corn has shared.”

In other words, Rogers may testify that Trump and his staff helped enable the Russians to interfere in the 2016 election. And they may still be trying to impede the investigation into the matter. That, in connection with what Comey says on Thursday, could spell doom for Trump and his administration.
