Newest Celebrity To Weigh In On The 2016 Election: Homer Simpson (VIDEO)

The Simpsons may be officially on summer hiatus, but that didn’t stop them from weighing in on the 2016 election.

The longest-running animated serie,  sitcom, and scripted primetime series of all time is, of course, no stranger to political commentary, and they have a history of poking fun at political figures on the left and the right.

The 3 A.M. Phone Call – Simpsons Style

The two-minute video, presented like a campaign ad, starts with Homer and Marge in bed. Marge can’t make love, though, until she decides who is getting her vote. Homer turns on the television, and sees an ad that asks,

“It’s 3 a.m. and the phone’s ringing in the White House. Who do you want to answer that call?”

They never actually come out and say “vote for Clinton,” but the message is clear. Trump is shown in a gilded room, dressed in a Scrooge-like nightcap and dressing gown, with a book called Great Speeches by author A. Hitler at his side. He’s furiously tweeting as the call comes in. He puts the call on “ignore” so he can continue disparaging Elizabeth Warren. When he finally does answer it, he is at first very demanding. When he finally decides that he can go deal with whatever is going on, it takes hours for him to prepare – including getting his orange spray and his wig (a live dog). By then, though, it’s too late, so what is Trump’s answer?

“Just build another wall! Yes, in the ocean, loser!”

The ad wraps up with a message that it was:

“Paid For By Americans Who Are Really Starting To Miss Obama.”

We then return to Homer and Marge, and at least Marge knows what to do!

The Simpsons have taken shots at Trump in the past. Remember the episode from 16 years ago, in which a future President Lisa Simpson has to save the country? That’s because she inherited a bankrupted economy from none other than President Donald Trump.
