Ridiculous ‘Christians Against Dinosaurs’ Video: Real Or Satire?

Dinosaur Hoax Fossils YouTube

A ridiculous video posted two months ago, in which an apparent member of a group called Christians Against Dinosaurs explains how fossils are manipulated pieces of rock, is making it’s rounds lately.

The woman in the video quickly starts out with the her ?argument? against the validity of fossils by saying:

?So a fossil is not actually a piece of bone. A fossil is actually a bone that was once in the ground that has been then filled with limestone, calcium, and other kind of stone-like deposits over the course of many many years, and at the end of the day it ends up looking like a bone but it’s not really a bone. It’s really a rock inside a rock.?

Huh? So a fossil is not actually a bone, but a bone that was once in the ground? Also, it was once a bone in the ground but it’s really a rock inside a rock? As your brain is still trying to make sense of this scattered explanation of fossils, she then goes on to say:

?Now the first fossil that was ever found was actually after they came up with the idea of a dinosaur.?

The argument she then proposes basically paints paleontologists as frauds that are not being truthful for the sake of keeping their jobs and making millions. While there is no love lost between the believers of evolution and creationists, you would think that this type of ridiculous argument surely wouldn’t help the creationists win over anyone.

At this point, after watching the video I had to find out if Christians Against Dinosaurs was a ?real? thing and who this woman was. Surely this had to be some kind of joke video that we see very often. After being accepted into their closed group Facebook page, I found that if this is a joke site, it is very well disguised. Some of the 10,000-plus members seem really passionate about the subject.

Also after some research in the Discussions section of the Christians Against Dinosaurs YouTube channel, someone identifies the woman in the video as Kristen Auclair. After a visit to her Facebook page, it seems this woman may actually believe everything she says in her videos.

If Kristen Auclair is the face of Christians Against Dinosaurs, they may need help. Maybe they should come up with less ridiculous arguments to advance their agenda. Even with this kind of satire-like video though, it seems that the group has some parents that are outraged by the teaching of dinosaurs in schools, as reported by Michael Allen at opposing views.com.

In the end, whether it’s real or satire, I have to admit that the videos are entertaining. The comments aren’t too bad either.
