Trump’s ‘Bizarre Fascination’ With Dictators Led To 2009 Bromance With Muammar Gaddafi (VIDEO)

I believe we have already established the fact that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has an affinity towards dictators and presidents who are aspiring to become one. Russian president, Vladimir Putin, for instance being one of those few bros with whom Trump has a bromance.

Thankfully for us, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, Governor Tim Kaine truly highlighted this particular trait of Trump’s, and that time Trump managed to host the former Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, on his property when he paid America a visit in 2009.

Kaine mentioned Trump’s ties and his fondness towards the former dictator during a speech on national security and foreign policy in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Gaddafi came to the United Nations Headquarters in New York to deliver a speech, and quite obviously, nobody in their right mind wanted to host a lunatic on their land.

Just when things were starting to look bad for Gaddafi, down came Trump – the gentleman that he is – and he cordially invited Gaddafi to set up camp in his 213-acre Seven Springs estate in Bedford, which is in Westchester County, New York.

Prior to Gaddafi’s trip, Libyan officials tried to acquire official permission to put up a tent in Central Park, Manhattan, but were undoubtedly denied. They eventually approached Trump’s representative, who complied without a hitch and allowed Gaddafi to stay on Trump’s estate.

Just to clarify, when Gaddafi meant camping, he literally meant camping. Gaddafi had an affinity of traveling with a North African-style tent adorned with couches, chairs, a satellite dish, and a fire pit. I sincerely presume Gaddafi liked his roasted marshmallows.

Thankfully, Bedford officials ordered the tent to be taken down since it violated zoning laws. Gaddafi had to eventually relocate to Libya’s U.N. mission in midtown Manhattan.

While this initial bromance with a dictator occurred in 2009, Trump was quizzed about it by CBS News in 2016 to which he replied:

I made lot of money with Gaddafi. If you remember, he came to the country and he had to make a deal with me because he needed a place to stay, and he paid me a fortune, never got to stay there. And it became sort of a big joke.”

Kaine, during his speech, perfectly summarized Trump’s childlike behavior as:

“…Emotionally volatile, fact-challenged, self-obsessed and inexperienced.”

This also highlights Trump’s absurd nature when it comes to choosing rotten allies and how this may affect the future of our country, especially if we allow a dictator-fanboy run it according to his will.

And we definitely know who to blame if a dictator shows up and squats at your favorite tenting spot.
