Former Federal Attorney: ‘Substantial Likelihood’ Michael Flynn Is Cooperating With Russia Probe

Preet Bharara, the former US attorney for the southern district of New York, has some bad news for President Donald Trump: he believes all signs point to the fact that disgraced former National Security adviser Michael Flynn is almost assuredly cooperating with Robert Mueller’s probe into Trump’s Russia connections.

Bharara was fired by Trump in March, and has since served as a legal analyst for CNN. Speaking on State of the Union, Bharara used his own past experiences to justify his conclusion. He said:

“My view is based on how things used to operate in my office and based on how the world works, which is that there’s a substantial likelihood that they’re at least in discussions with regard to cooperating.”

Bharara’s main evidence is that Flynn’s legal team recently told the President’s that they could no longer share information.

When asked whether Trump should be worried about this new development, Bharara said:

“It depends on what the President has done and what the President’s conversations with Michael Flynn and others have been. But if you’ve done bad things, then you should be very worried.”

Bharara clearly believes that Flynn is in big trouble, and his only possible out is flipping on his former boss. A few days ago, he tweeted:

Finally, Bharara offered this morsel, regarding how high this could go, for everyone who has been following Robert Mueller’s investigation:

“They could include other Cabinet officials. They can include members of the President’s family who also serve in some capacity for the President, and they can include the President himself. I’m going to caution everybody that this is speculation, but it’s based on how the process has tended to work in the past.”

Two members of Trump’s campaign, Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, have already been indicted by Robert Mueller. Both men pleaded not guilty.

Flynn would be an even bigger catch, as he was actually a member of Trump’s team after Trump was sworn in as President.

You can watch Bharara’s entire segment below. Stay tuned, as Mueller almost assuredly has more up his sleeve.
