?In this documentary, by Daniel Junge and Bryan Storkel, the viewers are left to draw their own conclusions between the church and condoned violence. And, no, this is not about the centuries of condoned mayhem, torture, violence and murder in the name of various religions. It is about Pastors that ask the simple question, ?Can you love your?fellow man and then punch him in the face??
The documentary then states that men have become ?feminized? and that ?Jesus never tapped out? while segueing into showing little boys firing handguns and strapping on helmets while being prodded to fight. ?Don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged as I’m your God and will be with you where ever you go?, now go and beat that other boy to a pulp. ?If you really want your enemy off your trail, you gotta learn to put your foot on his neck, somebody shout ?In Jesus Name??. Are these the interpretations of Matthew 5:44 and Luke 6:27 that have become acceptable in our society? How about Luke 6:36, ?Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful?? Can you be merciful to your enemies and pound them into submission?
Unless of course, the proper verse to apply to this situation comes down to Psalm 138:7 which states: ?Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth Thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Thy right hand will save me.? One can assume that the right hand of God delivers a heck of a knockout punch especially coupled with a killer left jab and a righteous sweep kick.
