Bryan Fischer: Sea Level Rise Won’t Be A Thing Because Rainbows

Climate change?is considered to be one of the most serious threats facing mankind today, with sea level rise threatening to wipe out entire coastal areas. However, extremists on the right wing aren’t going to be deterred in their denial. Bryan Fischer, Director of Issues Analysis for?the?American Family Association, offers us evidence that sea level rise will never happen: rainbows.

“How many people have been out there wringing their hands and trying to stir up all this agitation and fear because the oceans are going to rise, Manhattan is going to be under twenty feet of water, Hawaii is going to disappear under the waves.”

He continued:

“God says ?look, I am not going to destroy the earth with the waters of a flood ever again. You have my promise. Every time you see a rainbow in the sky, that’s what it is all about.”

Fischer is referencing the Old Testament book of Genesis in which God makes a promise to Noah to never flood the world again. In Genesis 9:7-12, you will find the verbiage to which Fischer is referring.

It seems that Bryan Fischer is taking great liberty with this story and this promise, but there is a fatal flaw in this reasoning. It should be pointed out that it’s not “God” causing climate change — it’s humans. This reality should smack common sense intelligent Christians in the face. Oops!
