Word got out about this on the conservative blogosphere, and oh, how the wingnuts howled. Take, for instance, Conservative Post. Please. Poster “Antonio” asked–loudly–“How can a nation founded on Christian values allow this to happen?” Apparently Antonio forgot that the First Amendment doesn’t just apply to Christians. But judging by a sample of the comments, Antonio’s sentiment looks rather tame, to put it mildly.
The United States was founded as a Christian nation, with Christian values. Those values that allow for freedom of religion and even freedom from religion. We are now starting to see that this was indeed a mistake. Those without religion and those that follow a false religion are now teaming up to try to destroy our country, our way of life and our precious belief In the one true God. Our God is known by one name, and one name only (Jehovah). Allah is just one of the many names used by Satan-the deceiver! So whomever the person responsible for this travesty is should be fired from his-her position, tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail, while the members of the house in attendance pray to God Almighty for forgiveness for their participation in a Satanic ritual! I am appalled!
Trey Gowdy, where were you when this atrocities was going being done in the People’s House. I have supported you, watch you, prayed for you and your family, I want answers to my questions. Are the women of this party going to have to stand up and take the lead of this country. I would never have stood there and let this go down without shouting with my loudest voice my disapproval. They would have to remove me by pulling me out with my hair. I am beyond incensed with this. Please explain to me how this could happen. I hope we have some true Americans who are as feed up as me and willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to rid our country of this scum. I want answers.

Regarding the imam leading the prayer…. absolute abomination…. the u.s. was founded by Christian men, praying to God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, by power of the Holy Spirit. In addition, the U.S. Navy was created to counter the depredations of the Barbary pirates… Muslim radicals based out of what is now Libya. The U.S. Marines also went on those Navy ships, and fought said pirates…. thus the stanza ?from the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli ?. Whose idea was it to invite this imam, whose religion’s adherents this nation fought against those many years ago, to say his prayers to an idol in the halls of Congress? Whose idea????!!!!!????? I want to know!
If I were am member of Congress I’d have to be temporarily absent, sorry I don’t worship false idols/gods.
The Christians among the 435 could not have simply gotten up and walked out when he commenced????? What better message could be sent? Time to send our messages to our reps now – from every state! Let them choke on them.
Who invited this head TERRORIST to do a prayer in the US House? If it was Bonehead, let’s get a TRUE AMERICAN to lead the house.
For those of you who are wondering where this hate comes from, remember two things. Many of these people no doubt believe, as does Tony Perkins, that Islamist radicals are the real Muslims. They also think, as does Bryan Fischer, that the First Amendment only protects Christians. And this element is going to have a champion in the incoming Congress–Jody Hice of Georgia, who in the past has claimed that separation of church and state is a Satanic plot. Gentlemen–a term I use in its loosest possible sense–you reap what you sow.
This kind of hate doesn’t just feel oppressive to Muslims. It feels oppressive to Christians like me, who actually believe in peacefully coexisting with non-Christians.
