Palin Slams Obama For Treatment Of Veterans And Her Son’s Domestic Violence Arrest

It didn’t take long for Sarah Palin to show off her penchant for making ignorant statements since she decided to endorse Donald Trump. This time, Obama and veterans were at the top of the list. She also managed to tie in her son’s recent domestic violence arrest to both.

During Palin’s speech at a Trump rally in Tulsa, OK yesterday, Palin criticized Obama and his “lack” of support for our veterans. She then went on to say:

“When I talk about a Commander in Chief who will never leave our men and our women behind, let me get a little bit personal on this. I’m talking about not leaving our wounded warriors behind also, our wounded warriors who come home from the battlefield bringing new battles with them. Our wounded warriors sometimes in body and in mind coming back different than when they left for the warzone.”

She then began to put it all together by say:

“I can talk personally about this. I guess it’s kind of the elephant in the room. Because my own family, going through what we’re going through today, with my son, a combat vet having served in the Stryker Brigade, fighting for you all America in the warzone. But my son like so many others, they come back a bit different, they come back hardened.”

The “elephant in the room” that Palin is talking about is her son Track and his recent arrest on domestic violence charges. In a report by CBS News, they reference a police statement that says:

“An investigation revealed Track Palin had committed a domestic violence assault on a female, interfered with her ability to report a crime of domestic violence, and possessed a firearm while intoxicated.”

CBS News also reported that:

“The girlfriend told authorities she was punched in the face by Palin…The court documents say the woman, Palin’s girlfriend of one year, had bruising and swelling around her eye, and she said her right knee hurt after Palin kicked her there.”

Now, PTSD as result of war – or any trauma for that matter – is no joke. The men and women that protect this country deserve the best FREE care available. To say that President Obama doesn’t care about veterans is just downright disgusting political pandering. Not only has Obama supported and fought for veteran’s healthcare, he also continues to fight for their benefits despite Republican pushback.

Continuing to speak of veterans and Obama’s lack of support, she says:

“It’s a shame that our military personnel even have to wonder, if they have to question, if they’re respected anymore. It starts from the top. The question though, that comes from our own president, where they have to look at him and wonder, “Do you know what we go through? Do you know what we’re trying to do to secure America, and to secure the freedoms that have been bequeathed us?””

To steal a tactic from the Republican playbook: Why is it, “elephant in the room? She can’t even say the words, “domestic violence arrest.”
