GOP Civil War! Ann Coulter Attacks ‘Arrogant’ Fox News On Eve Of Debate

Just how far has Donald Trump’s rise to the top of the GOP heap managed to cleave the Republican Party? It now appears the answer can best be summed up thusly: Civil war.

Appearing on the MSNBC show “Hardball” last night, longtime Trump acolyte Ann Coulter went after Fox News with everything she had, calling the network “arrogant” because they insist on not letting a candidate dictate who can and cannot appear on the panel as a debate moderator.

Coulter remarked that she feels Trump has firmly established himself as the “alpha dog” of the GOP field and that the Donald has forced a reassessment for conservatives that Fox News is “our network.”

The always truculent Ms. Coulter also told host Chris Matthews:

“Monopolies can get arrogant and there does seem to be a little bit of arrogance here. It’s not just that it’s smart alecky in how it treats Trump. It’s really insulting to voters.”

Is it as insulting to voters as dropping out of a debate at the last minute simply because you’re afraid of a moderator, Ann? How in the world could it be more insulting than that?

Coulter has said that she didn’t appreciate this statement issued by Fox when Trump began issuing his threats to not show for the debate:

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”

Apparently Trump and Coulter were not amused by the statement, and the situation between Fox and Trump has steadily deteriorated ever since.

Trump is playing a very dangerous game by not debating: He thinks he will be missed, but the only party negatively impacted by his refusal is his campaign. He has one last chance to make his point with Iowa voters, and instead he has chosen to be MIA just days before the first votes are cast. That’s what they call cutting off you nose to spite your face, and it may well spell the beginning of the end for Trump.
