Dead People And Muppets Sign Election Petition

Mimicking others is a pastime most of us enjoyed while growing up. It was fun trying to talk like James Cagney or sing like Elvis Presley. You know, however, that it’s taking it too far if you actually begin to behave like the characters you’re trying to mimic.

Even worse, that mimicry was perpetrated by a Denver Council candidate who definitely wanted to get into office in 2015, at all costs. The person in question, Corrie Houck, has the option of either turning herself in or being taken into custody after including the names of Sesame Street characters and a couple of dead folks on her election petition. Running for a seat on Denver’s District 2 City Council District, Corrie falsified documents claiming the aforementioned people signed her official election petition. As we all know; that’s cheating, and if cheating is allowed the system is no longer democratic. Her actions effectively meant she has shut the door of fair elections against herself.

The signatures of Sesame Street characters: Big Bird, Bert and Ernie were specifically listed on Corrie’s official petition and a few dead people’s signatures were, too. This was according to Gateway Pundit. She didn’t stop there; over half of her submitted signatures didn’t match those on the list of registered voters. This means that either the signatures were falsified or over half of the people gave false signatures.

Which is more plausible though?

Election criteria states that any candidate must have a minimum of 100 signatures to be allowed to run, but our subject – Corrie Houck never even appeared on the voting ballot!

If it had been a huge joke we all may have laughed it off. But it isn’t and no one is laughing.

What a way to get on the wrong side of the law.
