Trump’s Sexual Discrimination Lawsuit: Will He Really ‘Take Care Of Women?’

Despite Donald Trump’s claims that he will “take care of women” a former Iowa field organizer has filed a sexual discrimination complaint against him.

Elizabeth Mae Davidson, who was fired from Trump’s campaign in January, complained that male colleagues in the same job role were paid twice the amount that she was despite working the same amount of hours.

Last year Trump stated that he respects “women incredibly” and said:

“I have given women more opportunity than, I would say, virtually anybody in the construction industry.”

However if Davidson’s allegations are true then it would seem Trump’s attitudes towards women working in construction varies greatly to his attitude towards the women working for his campaign.

Although in the past Trump has stated that he has “great respect for women” Davidson claims she was paid a monthly sum of $2,000 for her part-time role whereas expense reports show that men with the same job title and hours earned between $3,500 and $4,000.

Davidson, who was fired last month for “making disparaging comments about senior campaign leaders,” something she denies, filed a lawsuit against Trump last week.

In addition to complaints about her wage Davidson also states that female staff were not allowed to speak at public events but male staff were.

Davidson also claimed that Trump made sexist remarks about her appearance when they met at an event last year. In reference to her physical appearance, Davidson claims that the GOP presidential candidate told her that “she could do a lot of damage.”

Davidson summarises the damage that the alleged sexual discrimination has caused her in her complaint, stating:

“As a result of this discrimination I have suffered lost wages, mental anguish and damage to my career.”

Trump has denied all of Davidson’s sexual discrimination claims and has instead alleged that she “made it up.”

Trump stated:

‘I’m telling you, the bottom line is I have no idea who this person is, and I never said that. Never.’
