Jimmy Carter Reveals Who His Pick For The GOP Nomination Is

Ex-president Jimmy Carter made an appearance at Britain’s House of Lords yesterday, Feb. 3, to speak about his decades long battle to eradicate the Guinea worm disease. While he was there though, he also revealed who his pick for the GOP nomination would be.

As Politico reports:

“Jimmy Carter would pick Donald Trump over Ted Cruz, but he doesn’t think Trump will make it that far.”

That is actually a wise pick when you think about it. While we all hate the arrogance of Donald Trump – and love to see him lose – Trump would be the least likely to beat the Democratic nominee.

Also, the last thing America needs is Christian extremists coming out of the woodworks to back someone like Cruz or Marco Rubio. While dealing with Islamic extremism is bad enough, Christian extremists aren’t making life any easier for many Americans. Quick note: No I am not comparing the two as equals. I am merely pointing out that extremism of any kind is the last thing we need.

Carter goes on to give his reason for picking Trump by saying:

“The reason is; Trump has proven already he’s completely malleable. I don’t think he has any fixed [positions] he’d go to the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far-right wing policies he’d pursue if he became president.”

Exactly. Let’s not forget either that Rubio poses the same far-right policy threat. In fact, they all do. As Carter is hinting to though, Trump has no idea what the hell he really would fight for, or whom, except maybe the highest bidder.

Lastly, as for people actually voting for Trump, the Atlantic Journal Constitution reports Carter as saying:

“When people actually get ready to put on a ballot, “This is the person I want to lead me for the next four or eight years, I think they’ll have a little different opinion.”

Now who are we to argue with such a smart, giving man. Here’s to hoping Trump does well so we can crush him later.
