Narcissistic Kanye Takes Credit For Taylor Swift’s Success. Here Is Her Response

Taylor Swift isn’t about to let Kanye get away with stealing her thunder, and her willingness to stand up to his misogynistic narcissism sends a loud and clear message to young women around the globe. Kanye threw gasoline back on the fire of what seemed to be their settled feud last Thursday, just in time for Valentine’s weekend. How? By releasing the track “Famous” from his new album “The Life of Pablo” which includes a lyric stating that he felt that they still might have sex because he made her famous.

West’s patently obvious, disrespectful bid for the spotlight at Taylor’s expense is ridiculous for many reasons, among them:

  1. Taylor moved to Nashville at the age of 14 to focus on her music career
  2. She was the youngest songwriter ever signed by Sony/ATV Music Publishing
  3. She released her first album at the age of 16 (ALL of these events took place long before she crossed paths with West)
  4. Her second album, Fearless emerged in 2008 and won four Grammys, including Album of the Year, making her the youngest winner of that prestigious award.

The list goes on. If Kanye’s delusional ego has bamboozled him into believing he had anything to do with Taylor’s meteoric rise to fame, he’s seriously hallucinating. Not to mention that his behavior is simply deplorable.

But Taylor stood up for herself admirably, urging young women everywhere to do the same in her Grammy acceptance speech Monday night. In that speech, she encouraged young females to focus on their work, remember who truly helped forge their success, and not to allow those who would try and take credit for their success to pull that focus and success off-course.

It was a classy response to a low-level diss from the rapper. Watch below.

If you let the following videos keep streaming, you’ll catch reactions to the whole debacle from Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner and many other celebs. Looks like Taylor’s career will continue to Swiftly rise as she wisely and eloquently took the high road. As for West, it remains to be seen if he has learned his lesson or ever will.
