Donald Trump Threatens Independent Run — AGAIN

Emboldened by the fanatical fervor of his Trans-Am driving, a mullet enthusiast base that has him leading the Republican Primary in nearly every national poll, Donald Trump has (yet again) seen fit to threaten the Republican establishment with the possibility of an independent bid for the Presidency. This latest batch of bellyaching was brought on, not by the tough questions of a female moderator, but by the cavalcade of boos the outspoken candidate received from the audience during the most recent Republican debate.

Like a petulant child threatening to take his ball and go home, the reality star railed against the unfairness of it all…because, other than using torture, this is how one, “Makes America Great Again!

Followers of his farcical campaign may remember that, around Thanksgiving, the Donald refused to rule out the possibility of an independent run. A month later, the man behind the bankruptcy of Trump Tower had seen the light, and promised that he would not run as an independent. Now, not only is this devout conservative Republican tossing about the possibility of an independent run, he is also threatening to sue Republican rival Ted Cruz, thus further dividing the party.

Trump has repeatedly questioned the legality of Cruz’s bid for the White House, due to the fact that Cruz was born in Canada. The “Trumpster” seems to have forgotten that “Birther” arguments have a zero success rate in politics, and are typically espoused by those wall-eyed, street corner doomsday prophets.

Luckily, Donald Trump has not moved forward with any lawsuit yet, and will not pursue any legal action, on the condition that the Cruz campaign stop spreading “lies.” Which means- to those who are paying attention- that Donald Trump couldn’t care less about the legitimacy of Ted Cruz. If he were truly a conscientious objector, then Trump would pursue his lawsuit regardless of what the Cruz campaign says or does. What the star of “The Apprentice” truly cares about (as though anything else could be expected of a narcissist) is his own image.

Despite all the positive poll numbers, it is comments and threats such as these that have many political insiders still questioning the seriousness of Donald Trump’s candidacy.
