Trump Violates Federal Law, Has Ad Pulled From Airwaves As A Result

As adept and brilliant as Donald Trump claims to be when it comes to matters of business, it turns out that when it comes to running a Presidential campaign, he’s a bumbling idiot.

Case in point: An attack ad Trump was running in Ohio against Governor John Kasich had to be pulled from the airwaves because Trump’s campaign violated federal election law in running the advertisement. Here’s the ad:

What makes the ad illegal? Well, as it so happens, a Super PAC supporting Kasich noticed this one small mistake. As the complaint filed with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) states:

“No disclaimer appears at the end of the advertisement paid for by Donald Trump. Consequently, this advertisement is in violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, and it must be removed from the air.”

That ad will not be seen in television because, as was reported by the New York Times:

“The Federal Election Commission says that political ads must include a ‘clearly readable’ written statement that appears at their end ‘for a period of at least four seconds’ with a ‘reasonable degree of color contrast’ between the background and the disclaimer statement.”

Clearly, Trump was outmaneuvered by political consultants who do this sort of thing for a living. Trump, on the other hand, is just an amateur wannabe candidate who has nothing to offer but lies, hatred, and smears on those who are running against him. He may currently be the front-runner for the GOP, but that speaks more to the overall weakness of the 2016 field than it does to his own acumen.

Donald Trump may well win the GOP nomination, but when it comes to a general election, little slip-ups like the one with the ad in Ohio will doom him to failure. That, and the fact that the majority of Americans do not share his view of this country or the world.
