Ben Carson: So What If Trump Stinks As POTUS–‘We’re Only Looking At Four Years’

Monday was a busy day for former GOP Presidential candidate Ben Carson. He went on lots of conservative news shows and talked about why he had chosen to endorse Donald Trump last week. His support for Trump seemed even stranger in light of the fact that Trump had once compared Dr. Carson to a child molester, saying:

“It’s in the book that he’s got a pathological temper. That’s a big problem because you don’t cure that … as an example: child molesting. You don’t cure these people. You don’t cure a child molester. There’s no cure for it. Pathological, there’s no cure for that.”

Carson said on Monday that even if Trump is a disaster as President, it’s really not a big deal:

“Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don’t think is the case, I think he’s going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn’t, we’re only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever.”

Hey, Carson seems to be saying, how much damage can one man do in just four years? If he needs a response to that question, consider how much damage George W. Bush did in his first term. We’re still engaged in the two endless wars he got the United States engaged in during his first four years in office. And the invasion of Iraq led directly to the creation of ISIS in the power vacuum created as a result of overthrowing Saddam Hussein.

Carson, much like Trump, has no idea how to solve the problems which face this country, and his support of Trump tells us all we need to know about both of them.
