We all have heard the torrent of hate speak coming from Donald Trump’s mouth. From his quotes about women and abortion to his racist and xenophobic comments. But he insists that he “can be presidential” when he choose to be.
He told New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd:
“I guess because of the fact that I immediately went to No. 1 and I said, why don’t I just keep the same thing going? I’ve come this far in life. I’ve had great success. I’ve done it my way. You know, there are a lot of people who say, ‘Don’t change.’ I can be as presidential as anybody who ever lived. I can be so presidential if I want.”
Dowd’s response: “Then start.”
BOOM! *Mic drop*
That’s not the only idiotic comment from the interview. When Dowd asked if he had been bullying the other candidates, he said:
1/2 When I asked Trump about bullying other candidates and whether he had ever been bullied as a kid, he said: "No, um. no. I’m winning."

2/2 "I have no great stories to tell you like all these guys who say, oh they were bullied, it probably never happened. I was never bullied"

His wife and daughter have even told him to act more presidential. He said he was being presidential in the last debate because he didn’t hit “Little Marco” or “Lyin’ Ted.” Seriously, we are not in middle school! Being presidential goes a LOT further than not hitting people.
He conceded and said he has problems fitting into the typical presidential pattern of behavior. He said it was to voters’ advantage because he could stand up to companies.
Being a bully is not the same as standing up to someone. We teach kids in elementary and middle school better behavior. Anderson Cooper accused Trump of arguing like a five-year-old. It was glorious!
This “presidential” guy has also incited riots at his rallies. Here he is saying he doesn’t condone violence:

Here he is talking about hitting someone that came after him:
Here he is waxing nostalgic about the “good old days” when protesters were treated “rough.”

Thank you, Ms. Dowd, for your epic take down of this buffoon. (I have plenty of other words in mind for him that I can’t say here.)
