Charlie Daniels is the country star most known for song, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” From the Bible verses and the pictures of his animals on his Twitter feed, it’s easy to tell he is very conservative and a bit of a redneck. He went full-blown redneck yesterday with the following Tweet:
There are some kids in college who should spend a year picking cotton
— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 5, 2016
And it’s not his first offensive tweet:
Like my neighbor said, "college has ruined a lot of good truck drivers".
— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) March 12, 2016
What’s worse is the post has no context. He just stuck it in his twitter feed along with Bible verses and pictures of his animals.
He has not officially endorsed any presidential candidate, but he did call Trump the “maverick candidate” in one of his hate filled blog posts. Here is the full comment:
“The very thought that a maverick candidate like Donald Trump, whose unconventional style of shoot ‘em down in the street and take no prisoners politics, who has funded his own campaign while they’ve spent untold millions trying to kill his candidacy absolutely terrifies the powers that be.”
He also doesn’t seem to know how the sky works:
Morning Prayer
Lord help us remember that no matter how dark and stormy the sky appears there is bright sunlight just beneath the clouds.— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 4, 2016
Sunlight, beneath the clouds? You need to learn your prepositions, Mr. Daniels. He also spreads his bullsh*t to the political conversation as well:
There was a vast right wing conspiracy to keep Hillary from using a secure server.
— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 1, 2016
I’m not sure if this is a joke or not…
Here he is talking about Bernie supporters and spreading that redneck stereotype all over the place:
Bernie if you're going after redneck vote you've got to guarantee free beer and shotgun shells and complimentary tickets to the Daytona 500
— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 1, 2016
He had this to say about Hillary Clinton in one of his “soapbox” posts:
“When Hillary Clinton says that she didn’t know that the documents crossing her desk were classified, and used a private server that has probably been hacked by everybody from the Russians to the whiz kid down the block, one of three things come into play.”
What a lot of people don’t realize is that information is not always classified when it is first discovered. Someone with clearance has to decide whether or not the release of the information would pose a security threat.
Charlie Daniels needs to just stick to music, and hopefully he won’t post any more random racist and/or idiotic comments.
