Joe Scarborough: THIS Candidate ‘Will Never Be The Nominee Of The Republican Party’

Forget the Democratic Civil War – the GOP one just got more entertaining!

During Wednesday’s Morning Joe, Scarborough made what could seemingly be a last-ditch effort at defending Donald Trump for the GOP Nominee by dismissing Ted Cruz:

“Right now, he is… the guy is loathed, and he is loathed inside DC in a way that Donald Trump is not loathed. I mean, I know a lot of the establishment hates Donald Trump, but Ted Cruz is the devil that they know, and they don’t like him. He’s not going to win the nomination. Right now, he is a vehicle to stop Donald Trump.”

There is certainly an element of truth to this. Cruz was, in part, responsible for the government shutdown in 2013. Trump is an outsider and a new face for the Republican party. I’m not sure it’s the face they want to have, though, and recent votes would appear to reflect that.

Even Scott Walker agrees, saying:

“We’ll have a contested convention and it will be someone who’s not Ted Cruz but I’ll back Ted Cruz for now.”

While Walker may not have an excuse, Scarborough might. Joe has had a hard week. On Thursday, he actually defended Hillary Clinton regarding claims that she said Bernie Sanders was unqualified for the White House:

“I keep going until I get an answer or give up and after three or four attempts with Secretary Clinton, I gave up because she was not going to say the words ‘He is unqualified to be President of the United States.'”
