Indiana Cop Loses Job For Preaching Religion To Woman He Pulled Over

Question: The last time you were pulled over by the police–for whatever reason–did the officer try to evangelize you? No? Me either. But a state trooper in Indiana did, and now’s he’s in the unemployment line for his actions.

Brian Hamilton was let go from his job Thursday after a woman sued him for asking which church she attended and whether she was “saved.”

The woman Hamilton queried on her religion when he pulled her over filed a complaint with the Indiana State Police, and the ACLU also filed a lawsuit on her behalf.

This is not the first time Hamilton had been accused of preaching to a driver. He was also sued for a similar incident during a traffic stop in 2014.  For that, he received a written warning against preaching while on duty.

The Indiana State Police (ISP) said Hamilton’s dismissal had nothing to do with the ACLU lawsuit:

“(Thursday’s) termination of Hamilton’s employment with the state police was the result of a thorough internal investigation and would have occurred regardless of any legal action initiated by the (ACLU) against Mr. Hamilton.”

For his part, Hamilton said he isn’t sorry he did what he did, even though it cost him his job:

“Oh well. I’m just following what the Lord told me to do, and you can’t change what the Lord tells you to do. So if the Lord tells me to speak about Jesus Christ, I do — and that’s why they fired me, so that’s where we’re at.”

Yes, that’s where we’re at: Yet another person unaware that we run this country by a Constitution, not by the Bible or what the Lord tells you do. Hamilton got what he deserved. Can I get an amen?
