As Republican politicians continue to bang the drum of the LGBT threat, they can’t stop telling on themselves about their own reprehensible thoughts or behavior. A little less than a year ago, Mike Huckabee decided to let the public in on his desire to shower with girls. Next up to the plate is Louis Gohmert.
The Texas Congressman brought to light his own fantasies of dressing as a woman so he could enter their bathrooms. According to The Intellectualist, Gohmert said:
“When it comes to this current legislation where — in most of the world, in most of the religions, the major religions, you have men and you have women, and there are some abnormalities but for heaven’s sake, I was as good a kid as you can have growing up, I never drank alcohol till I was legal, never to, still, use an illegal drug, but in the seventh grade if the law had been that all I had to do was say, ‘I’m a girl,’ and I got to go into the girls’ restroom, I don’t know if I could’ve withstood the temptation just to get educated back in those days.”
I never drank or did drugs, but I would invade the privacy of my teenage peers to “get educated?” What an interesting and unfortunate perspective!
Mainly, it can be quite confusing to understand what they believe takes place in women’s restrooms. It brings to light their own perverted and sexist thoughts in how they believe females interact with each other. Such behavior only resides within your minds guys.
Furthermore, the behavior toward the LGBT community is often despicable. It would be difficult to believe any sensible person would openly declare their association in such a way. However, it is true we are not dealing with sensible people.
Gohmert and Huckabee are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the odd justifications heard from the mouths of GOP politicians. Indiana, Mississippi, and North Carolina, all led by Republican leaders, have taken the time to force discriminatory policies onto their residents.
Only time will tell if the implementation of these ludicrous laws are nothing more than the next Republican fad. We can only hope this threat will pass.
