Jehovah’s Witnesses Attempt To Disprove Evolution, Fail Miserably (Video)

The latest Christian group to try and discredit the theory of evolution–and failing miserably–is the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who posted a video to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Broadcasting’s Watchtower Society website claiming that science in no way proves evolution.

In the video, two so-called “scientists,” Yaroslav Dovhanych and Professor Raj Kalaria try to explain their rationale for saying evolution is just a bunch of words, with Dovhanych proudly proclaiming:

“Can anyone say that some computer programs appeared simply by chance? In contrast, evolutionists would like us to believe that DNA was formed by evolution. To illustrate, say you take some letter blocks, pour them onto the table, and the Encyclopaedia Britannica is formed. There is an even smaller probability that DNA originated by evolution.”

This overlooks the fact of chemistry, which has more than a minor role in the formation of DNA. No need to let real science get in the way of propaganda.

The Jehovah’s Witness video was shredded by Lloyd Evans on his website. Evans wrote:

“When successive generations of an organism are shaped by their surroundings, and an environment selects which attributes are best suited to reproduction and survival, what we have is cause and effect. Evolution is a guided process, even if natural forces rather than a supreme celestial supervisor are doing the guiding.”

What I find most vexing about religious people who try to prove that science and religion are not compatible, as they want to claim is that they only see one side of the issue. Who’s to say that whatever force created the world didn’t set things in motion to evolve, as part of a larger plan? And if science is such a bad thing–which is the contention of so many right-wingers, then why do we have medicine and doctors to help heal us and keep us healthy?

For now, take a look at this video and you’ll see just how ignorant the claims of the Jehovah’s Witnesses are:
